Yarnstream is the brainchild of an incredible woman named Jill Stover. Sadly, Jill passed away a few years ago before ever being able to realize her Yarnstream dreams. Jill’s husband, Lanse, reached out to me (Nikki) and asked if I wanted to continue on with this kooky and awesome idea of Jill’s. I, of course, said YES!
Jill was a mentor, soul-sister, friend, inspiration, knitting guru, and ball of energy all wrapped into one. She left a hole in the world the day she passed. She was a muse for so many, when you were around Jill, your creative juices started flowing. This is the dream I have for the Yarnstream. I hope Lurlene can be a place for people to feel creative, explore new areas of fiber arts that they never have before, learn and enjoy! That was all Lanse asked of me, to make sure that I spread Jill’s love of knitting and all things art. That’s exactly what I intend on doing.
So, who am I?
My name is Nikki Escalada, I’m a knitter, crocheter, spinner, cross-stitcher, beader, Cricut-er, traveler, rock hound, and always open to learning a new craft.
I am a native of Massachusetts. I have lived in a few different countries and states and had a few different jobs. I guess you could say, I’m still trying to figure it all out. At the center though, is art, being creative, and travel. I recently moved to Vermont after living in Jackson, Wyoming for the last 5 years. My most exciting adventure yet is beginning on May 29th at Mad River Fiber Mill with the Yarnstream. I will start in Vermont and see where she takes me. Please come visit! I can’t wait to meet you all!

The following was written by Jill originally when she created this website:
Who is this kook who owns a vintage Airstream trailer named Lurlene, which houses a new yarn shop called Yarnstream?
I am Jill Stover, noted rebel and dangerous knitter.
For years I owned the local yarn shop Yarns in the Farms in Massachusetts, winner of Best of North Shore award. I have recently relocated to the high peaks of the Adirondacks, pulling my 1969 Airstream behind me, stuffed with yarn and knitterly delights. It will be open soon! Check out my knitwear designs!
I like to knit, eat, garden, travel, read, write, and make stuff. Oh! and I am a children’s book author and illustrator.
Y’all come see me!
